Logistic / Distribution Officer
We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a logistics/distribution administrator. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the transportation, storage, and distribution of merchandise to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
Plan and coordinate logistics operations, including scheduling shipments, arranging transportation, and managing inventory levels.
Communicate with suppliers, freight forwarders and transportation service providers to ensure timely receipt and delivery of goods.
Monitor and track shipments using logistics software or tracking systems, and provide updates to internal stakeholders and customers as needed.
Manage warehouse operations, including receipt, storage and dispatch of goods in accordance with established procedures and safety standards.
Conduct regular inventory counts and resolve discrepancies, ensuring accurate records are kept of inventory levels and transactions.
Coordinate with sales, purchasing, and customer service teams to fulfill orders and resolve any issues related to product availability or delivery.
Improving distribution methods and transportation methods to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety regulations and company policies throughout the logistics process.
Identify opportunities to improve operations and implement solutions to streamline operations and enhance customer satisfaction.
Supervise and provide direction to warehouse staff and logistics staff as needed.
Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of logistics principles, transportation methods and inventory management techniques.
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in using logistics software, tracking systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.
Analytical mindset and problem-solving abilities to identify problems and implement effective solutions.
– Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards in the field of logistics and distribution.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping and documentation.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work independently with minimal supervision.
