Inventory Assistant

Our company is a dynamic organization committed to excellence in inventory management and logistics. We are currently looking for a proactive, detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Inventory Assistant. This role plays a critical role in maintaining accurate inventory records, optimizing warehouse operations, and ensuring the efficient flow of merchandise throughout our organization.

Responsibilities:
Assist in receiving incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders, and accurately recording receipts in inventory management systems.
Organize and label inventory items, assign storage locations, and conduct regular periodic counts and inventory audits to reconcile discrepancies and maintain inventory accuracy.
Monitor stock levels and stock availability, create replenishment orders as needed, and coordinate with suppliers and purchasing teams to ensure timely delivery of goods and materials.
Prepare and pack inventory items for outbound shipments, verify item codes, quantities, and destination details, and coordinate with shippers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
Collaborate with warehouse staff and operations teams to optimize storage space, streamline inventory processes, and implement best practices for inventory control and management.
Conduct regular inspections of inventory storage areas, identifying and addressing any issues related to organization, cleanliness, safety and compliance with company policies and procedures.
Create reports and analyze inventory data to track inventory movements, identify trends, and provide insights to support decision making and improve inventory management practices.
Assist in implementing inventory management software, barcode scanning systems, and other technology solutions to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and visibility of inventory operations.
Respond to internal inquiries and requests for inventory information, and provide support and guidance to colleagues and stakeholders as needed.

Requirements:
A high school diploma or equivalent qualification is required; Additional education or certification in logistics, supply chain management, or inventory control is preferred.
Previous experience in inventory management, warehousing, or related field is preferred but not required. On-the-job training will be provided.
Proficiency in using inventory management software, Microsoft Excel, and other computer applications to enter, analyze, and prepare reports.
Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy to maintain accurate inventory records, reconcile discrepancies, and identify trends or anomalies.
Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues, vendors and customers.
Stand for long periods of time and perform repetitive tasks as needed.
