Computer Operator

We are currently looking for a skilled, detail-oriented Computer Operator to join our team. If you have a passion for technology, strong problem-solving skills, and a keen attention to detail, we encourage you to apply for this position.

Responsibilities:
• Operate computer systems and peripheral equipment, including printers, scanners, and data entry devices, to process and manage information efficiently.
• Monitor system operations and performance, and respond quickly to error messages, alerts and malfunctions to ensure uninterrupted workflow.
• Perform batch processing, data backup, and file transfer tasks according to established schedules and procedures.
• Entering commands and instructions into computer systems to execute programs, run applications, and perform data processing tasks.
• Maintain accurate logs and logs of system activities, running tasks, error reports, and document any problems or incidents for review and analysis.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software and network issues, diagnose problems and implement solutions to resolve technical issues promptly.
• Coordinate with IT support teams and software developers to handle system upgrades, patches and software installations, ensuring compliance and minimal interruption to operations.
• Follow security protocols and procedures to protect data integrity, confidentiality and system access, including password management and user authentication.
• Provide technical support and assistance to end users, respond to inquiries, resolve problems, and provide guidance on system usage and best practices.
• Stay up to date on emerging technologies, trends and developments in computer systems and software applications, and share knowledge and ideas with team members.

Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent; Certification or additional training in computer science, information technology, or related field is preferred.
• Proven experience as a computer operator or similar role, with a strong understanding of computer systems, hardware, and software applications.
• Proficiency in operating system environments, including Windows, Unix/Linux, and/or mainframe systems.
• Familiarity with data processing concepts, batch scheduling tools, and job control languages.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze system errors, troubleshoot technical issues and implement effective solutions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and communicate technical information to non-technical users.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends and holidays as needed to support 24/7 operations.
