To take customer orders and process payments. May also work to prepare and expedite food orders. Between customers, crew members perform cleaning duties such as wiping tables and sanitizing food preparation areas.

Key customers include restaurant managers, operations consultants, and external and internal customers.

Responsibilities:

• In addition to following McDonald’s policies and procedures, key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Follow and reinforce basic staff standards (e.g., uniform, punctuality).
• Work and communicate effectively with coworkers and management.
• Positive attitude and commitment to customer satisfaction.
• Enter orders into point-of-sale system and accept payment via credit card reader or cash register, calculating change accurately and quickly as needed.
• Greet customers, take orders, and serve food and beverages with a consistently positive and helpful attitude, including answering questions about the menu.
• Ensure daily cleanliness of the restaurant by wiping tables, returning trays to the kitchen, sweeping and mopping floors, washing and sanitizing kitchen utensils, and servicing restrooms.
• Periodically verify that equipment is working properly and report any maintenance needs.
• Periodically verify that the temperature of freezers, refrigerators, or heating equipment is at the standards necessary to maintain the highest quality of service and consistent product standards.
• Work with the kitchen team to prepare food following cooking instructions, safety procedures, and health requirements.
• Report all potential safety hazards or employee accidents to the shift manager.
• Effectively manage and communicate all customer complaints, suggestions, requests, or special ideas to the shift manager.
