School Bus Attendant

We are committed to providing safe and reliable transportation services to our passengers. We are currently looking for dedicated individuals to join our team as Bus Attendants. This role plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of passengers during their commute.

Responsibilities:
Assists passengers, including students and other passengers, as they board and exit the bus, ensuring a safe and orderly process.
Assisting passengers in finding their seats and securing their belongings, and providing assistance to those with special needs or who face mobility challenges.
Monitor passenger behavior and enforce safety rules and regulations while on the bus, and maintain a calm and respectful environment.
Providing mobility aids, such as wheelchairs or walkers, and assisting passengers in securing seatbelts and harnesses as needed.
Communicate effectively with the bus driver and other team members to coordinate boarding, seating and drop-off procedures.
Respond immediately to emergencies and incidents on board the bus, following established protocols for evacuations, medical emergencies and other safety concerns.
Maintain cleanliness and order on the bus, including picking up trash, wiping seats, and making sure emergency exits are unobstructed.
Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or passenger concerns to the bus driver or transportation supervisor immediately.
Provide assistance and support to passengers during inclement weather, traffic delays, or other difficult situations.
Attend training courses and participate in continuing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge related to passenger safety and customer service.

Requirements:
A high school diploma or equivalent qualification is required.
Previous experience working with children, individuals with disabilities, or in a customer service role is preferred but not required.
Ability to communicate effectively in English, with additional language skills useful.
Strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude, with the ability to interact professionally and courteously with passengers of all ages.
Ability to remain calm and collected under pressure and respond effectively to emergencies and unexpected situations.
Physical stamina and ability to stand, bend and lift moderate loads during the work day.
Commitment to safety and adherence to established protocols and procedures for transporting passengers.
Flexibility to work variable hours and schedules based on transportation routes and school schedules.
