We are looking to hire a hardworking Kitchen Assistant to clean, stock and maintain the kitchen as well as assist in preparing meal ingredients. Kitchen Assistant responsibilities include retrieving ingredients from the refrigerator, freezer, and pantry, measuring ingredients according to chef instructions, and removing food scraps from patrons’ plates, bowls, and cups. You must also be able to ensure that all work areas are properly sanitized.

To be successful as a Kitchen Assistant, you must demonstrate sound knowledge of proper food handling procedures and removing expired or spoiled ingredients from the refrigerator, freezer, and pantry. Ultimately, an excellent kitchen assistant must be able to follow all health and food safety regulations and demonstrate exceptional organizational skills to ensure kitchen duties are completed in a timely manner.

Kitchen Assistant Responsibilities:
Preparing the meal ingredients for the cook, which includes washing, peeling, chopping, and slicing the ingredients.
Help kitchen staff unload food supplies from delivery trucks.
Properly wash and dry all dishes, utensils, cookware, and cutting boards.
Place all utensils, cooking utensils, dishes, and cutting boards in their designated places in a neat manner.
Filling external orders as needed.
Remove trash, replace trash bags, and wash trash cans.
Mop and vacuum kitchen areas as needed.
