Pastry Chef
Roles and responsibilities:
• Prepare food, beverages, materials and equipment for service in advance
• Cook and serve dishes according to the restaurant menu
• Provide direction to kitchen assistants, including commis, cooks, kitchen attendants and hosts
• Follow the instructions and recommendations of direct superiors to complete daily tasks
• Ensure that all food produced is in line with kitchen recipes and standards
• Ensure the highest standards and consistent quality in daily preparation and keep up to date with new products, recipes and preparation techniques
• Verify that all food items are stored and handled in accordance with current health and food hygiene regulations
• Ensure that the work area, equipment and department remain clean at all times
• Guiding and training subordinates on a daily basis to ensure high motivation and economical work environment
• Suggest any improvements that can be made to improve the current service or procedures
• Attending training courses and meetings when required
• Any other reasonable request as requested by management
Required candidate profile:
• Hold a gastronomic education certificate or equivalent (Apprenticeship/Diploma/BA/BSc)
• HACCP certification
• Ability to work and communicate in a multinational environment
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
• Ability to identify and delegate tasks effectively
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Operates in a safe, prudent and organized manner
• Knowledge of food safety systems
