Foreman – Plater / Fabricator

Job Description
• Pre-plan jobs and provide feedback to senior supervisor on work sequences, manpower and equipment requirements.
• Coordinate with project manager, inspector, other craftsmen and within the department to execute the job smoothly.
• Ensure efficient and productive utilization of assigned manpower, consumables and materials thereby achieving the assigned schedule to meet the set objective.
• Ensure all work is carried out to the required standards and within the required time.
• Communicate with supervisors/supervisors in other disciplines to ensure optimum use of available resources, with the overall goal of successful project completion.
• Distribute sheet metal workers based on their experience and monitor performance through regular inspections during the process.
• Conduct internal inspections to ensure processing operations meet set standards before sending for quality control/customer inspections.
• Reporting work progress and planned start/finish dates against work order and rotation for next shift as required by supervisor.
• Training, motivating, evaluating and giving feedback on training requirements to upskill subordinates.
• Practicing workplace discipline to prevent absenteeism, unsafe work practices and downtime.
• Attending any training for any activity required by the department.
• Proactively participating in identifying onboard/shop faults and generating effective reports through NCIR system.
• Monitoring daily operations related to the particular job to ensure business continuity.

Experience/Qualifications and Skills:

• Extensive knowledge of different types of steel structures, steelwork and welding procedure specifications.
• Industrial training certificate or equivalent.
• A two-year vocational training course.
• Familiarity with steel fabrication activities with a minimum of 3 years experience as a foreman or key position.
