Commis Chef
Responsibilities:
• Measure the ingredients of Chef De Partie’s meal accurately.
• Preparing the components of the meal, which includes seasoning various meats, in addition to washing, peeling and cutting vegetables and fruits.
• Prepare basic salads and sauces as directed by Chef De Partie.
• Receive deliveries and verify that all ordered items have been delivered and are of good quality.
• Inventory restaurant supplies and notify supervisor of low or depleted supplies.
• Dispose of all expired and damaged food stored in warehouses, refrigerators and freezers.
• Perform basic cleaning duties and ensure workstations are properly sanitized.
• Plating and serving meal items as instructed by Chef de Partie.
Requirements:
• High school diploma or GED.
• An associate’s degree, diploma, or certificate in culinary arts is beneficial.
• Food trader license.
• Proven commercial kitchen experience.
• Sound knowledge of food health and safety systems.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Effective communication skills.
