Job Description

• Assist in overseeing the daily operations of the hotel’s bars (6 bars)
• Ensure a high level of service and hospitality to all guests.
• Manage and maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the bar area.
• Monitor the quality of beverages and service and maintain consistency.
• Assist in hiring, training, and supervising bar staff.
• Ensure employees are well trained in beverage preparation, customer service, safety protocols, and internal hotel policies.
• Delegate tasks to bartenders and bartender assistants efficiently.
• Provide leadership and direction to the bar team, promoting a positive and professional work environment.
• Assist in managing bar inventory, ordering supplies, and ensuring stock levels are maintained.
• Conduct regular inventory audits to track usage, reduce waste, and prevent theft.
• Assist in organizing storage and ensuring proper inventory rotation.
• Ensure guest satisfaction by addressing complaints or issues quickly and professionally.
• Maintain a friendly and welcoming environment for guests and colleagues.
• Serve VIP customers or special requests and ensure they have an exceptional experience.
• Assist in tracking bar revenue and controlling costs to maximize profitability.
• Ensure cash handling and point-of-sale transactions are processed accurately.
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports as required.
• Ensure compliance with all local laws and regulations related to alcohol service.
• Ensure all health, safety and hygiene standards are followed, including food safety and hygiene protocols.
• Monitor responsible service of alcoholic beverages and ensure all guests are of legal drinking age.
• Work closely with the hotel’s food and beverage team, housekeeping team, and kitchen to ensure smooth service and guest satisfaction.
• Coordinate with event managers for bar services during special events and conferences.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management or related field is an added advantage.
• At least two years of experience in alcohol service or bar management, preferably in hotels or restaurants.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Knowledge of bar operations, drink preparation, and cocktail recipes.
• Ability to handle cash and maintain financial records.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food and beverage service.
• Valid alcohol service certifications (if required by local law) and knowledge of responsible alcohol service.
